Egg Season for Ducks!! Yea!!
Well as some of you know it is egg season for ducks!! I'm soo excited!! Here's a tip if you see a Female Duck being protected by a Male Duck- if you see this the female duck is either going to have eggs or does have eggs. The female duck must always be protected so nothing happens to her, so she can protect the eggs. Also they might be afraid of you so you should give a slow approach so you wont scare them away. I personally think you should feed them bread, and that it isn't harmful like people think. Actually, I have read that wheat products are good for the ducks. The female duck is going to need all the food you can give her, so you can ask us for what you should feed the ducks! Everyday the duck will get off their eggs 3 times a day, so be cautious of how many times they get off, and from their other visits. If they come for food often, you should see a "schedule" of when they eat forming. The Schedule will change when it rains. Lastly, I learned that if you get to see how many eggs there are in a nest, you can subtract that number of eggs from 35 and you should get the amount of days it will take for the eggs to hatch (from 26-28 days). Good Luck!

P.S. NEVER touch the eggs, the mother's can tell if there has been any movement in the nest and will get nervous and feel threatened because someone else (such as a predator) was there. She will most likely abandon the ducklings.
