Happy Earth Day!
Heyy, it's Amber here. I just wanted to say Happy Earth Day! And now, I have a few facts about our Earth:
Well, for Earth Day, I think that we should try to get more involved and informed on our issues with the Earth. For starters, we should all recycle. Recycling is one of the chief ways to help Mother Earth. We should try to plant trees instead of tearing them down. It is not smart to tear down trees. The more trees that are torn down, the less oxygen you have. I am not suggesting you tear down trees, but if you have no choice, cut down the dead ones and plant a brand new tree. Can you imagine what would happen if we planted a tree; every single one of us? We would have cleaner air instead of that factory junk. Which brings me to my next point, we should find a better way to design factories so that they are eco-friendly. Why have smoke blowing around our clean air? It's not good for us or our environment. Also, we can try to be healthier through helping the earth. We can ride bikes or walk to places nearby instead of driving cars. Smoke and CO2 emissions are one of the main causes of Global Warming. The polar bears are suffering because of our un-environmentally friendly ways. We can also use natural soil instead of fertilizer. We can make natural soil by desinagrating leaves. They leaves create soil that is healthy and rich in nutrients. This will reduce the run-off of the chemicals in fertilizer and give plants a healthier soil to grow in. We can't forget about hairspray. Fact or myth? I don't know. But if it is a fact, maybe we can use hair gel instead. It's for the same purpose right? I'm not sure if it is true that it will work but we can try right? And everyone should make sure to pick up their trash and never litter! When we litter, the animals find ways to tamper with it and it backfires. Sometimes, animals swallow the litter, they can get stuck in it ( I have heard of animals getting the 6 pack soda wrappers around their head!), and these things, if severe enough, can cause death.

- The average human generates around 1,900 pounds of trash each year! That's almost one ton for one person.
- The temperature in Antarctica has raised one degree in 50 years. Though this doesn't seem like a lot, it has taken a great toll on this special continent.
- The ice in Antarctica has melted really fast in a matter of 1 month. If this much ice deterioration has occurred in 1 month, what will the toll be in 1 year? Thank You Global Warming!
